Hey Liam; I'm not sure if I asked you this before but, is it possible to
have sounds indicating when your gun is at the right and left most- also,
maybe some aiming signal. I love the judgement day game, but find is
rather frustrating since I only got hearing in one ear so everything's
chucked up to fluke rofl.
I can actually do quite well scorewise but that basically is me just
spreying bullets from left to right and back again without even aiming- I
would prefer a way to allow me to aim properly.
Also, since the gun doesn't let you know when you're at the left or right
most corner, sometime I find myself hitting the arrows needlessly thinking
that I can crank it over further.
One way I can see to do this is to have a clicking sound when the gun's
moving, so when it no longer clicks, you know you can't move it further in
that direction.
Not sure if you'd be interested in adding these features- I certainly hope
so!

having with not being able to earn more than 34 trophies. The full
version

of the game has now been posted. If needed, I can also post a patch if
people do not want to upgrade by redownloading the full version again.

Re: [Audyssey] To Liam Erven was Streamway

2010-06-06 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Damien,
Yes, Liam does use VB 6. Philip was responding to my comment that we
have the same sorts of problems with the .Net languages as they are
heavy unicode based languages. I don't use Streamway myself with .Net
as my new engine is written in C++, but I did try it out to see if I
could do it and ran into some issues where I would have to write a
managed wrapper for the library to get it to work correctly.

Hi Thomas,

The majority of Unicode string classes will most likely also have
conversion functions to convert between Unicode and Ascii, as at least in
C++ both are still used quite extensively. In essence, it's just a normal
char* rather than a wchar*. The stl string class, for instance, has the
c_str method to do this. I'm not too sure about the .net languages, but if
at any point I write a .net binding for Streemway I'll make a wrapper to
take a Unicode string and simply do the conversion internally.

Kind regards,

Philip Bennefall

Hi Philip,
H...I do see that as somewhat problematic though as the problem
isn't specific to VisualBasic 6. This also happens with any .Net
application because the .Net String class converts ascii strings to
unicode automatically which makes sense most Windows applications use
unicode strings rather than ascii. I supppose if you pass the string
directly to the Sw_Init function it wouldn't do that, but if you use
the String class it probibly would try and pass an Unicode string. I
think we need to look into this more as Unicode is pretty common and
ascii is almost a thing of the past as far as Windows is concerned.

Hi,
There is actually a function to convert unicode strings to ansi in VB. If I
remember correctly you call, for example StrConv("SW_Username",
vbFromUnicode)
I don't think there is any other way to do it except to make a wrapper
initialisation module or something.

From what I remember, this is an issue related to interfacing with Streemway

from Visual Basic 6. It has to do with the fact that VB 6 passes a so called
Unicode string as the registration name and key, whilst Streemway is
expecting an Ansi string. So this is not an issue with Streemway itself, but
rather with the way that it is being called. Liam, I seem to recall you had
a way to fix this a while back?

Kind regards,

Re: [Audyssey] To Liam Erven was Streamway

2010-06-06 Thread Philip Bennefall

Hi Thomas,

The majority of Unicode string classes will most likely also have conversion
functions to convert between Unicode and Ascii, as at least in C++ both are
still used quite extensively. In essence, it's just a normal char* rather
than a wchar*. The stl string class, for instance, has the c_str method to
do this. I'm not too sure about the .net languages, but if at any point I
write a .net binding for Streemway I'll make a wrapper to take a Unicode
string and simply do the conversion internally.

[Audyssey] to Liam: Contacting issues

2006-12-14 Thread Neo
Hi,
I've now sent the same private message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] like three times,
even using the direct link at your contact page the last time. I've been
getting delivery failure notices all the time, and I'm not really sure if the
last attempt was successful or not. My isp apparently doesn't like the
l-works.net domain. So, is there any other way of contacting you than e-mail or
MSN (I do not have that)? Something like icq, for example...
If the message didn't get delivered, it's something of high importance that I
wouldn't like to get lost. So, please, contact me at:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
if relevant, telling me another contact method. I'm sure it will work the other
way - sending a message from you to me. If not, then I'll probably put up a
file containing the text of the message on a web or ftp server somewhere and
will give you direct access to it.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the inconvenience.
