[Audyssey] mush client help
Hi list: I was wondering for those who use mush client if they could help me. I have a issue where when I play sounds in a mud the sounds get cut off when the screen reader talks or a different sound is about to play. Is there a plug in or something in the settings that I need to turn on or off to make the sounds fully play? I've seen this in a few random cases. My best guess would be to install the lua audio plugin. [Audyssey] Mush client madness and another question about alter aeon
Ok, sorry I have come to this discussion a little late but if you are referring to getting an error when trying to open the Alter Aeon world file from the recent files menu in mush when you first install then this is likely not working as it is pointing t a drive letter which you do not have on your system. To get around this do the following. 1. load mush. 2. press ctrl+o to open a world file. 3. navigate your folders to find the worlds folder inside the mush.z folder (this may alter depending on where you installed it) Inside the worlds folder you will find a folder called alteraeon, go into there. 4. Now find a file called alter_aeon.mcl and open it. That should get you in. The next time you play after that you should be able to load mush and simply choose the first recently opened file from the file menul. I do this by simply hitting alt+f and then 1. Hope this helps. It would appear to me that your client has broken path info. If I were you, I'd create a new world, and set it up with all the plugins from the original. This means: alteraeon, mush reader, output functions, auto retyping, and channel history. There may be more that I'm missing, but that's most of the list. When you create the world, make sure you give it the following: world name: alter aeon tcip/ip: 66.172.33.242 There's another field, something that wants a url, put in www.alteraeon.com Port: 3010 Hope this helps, John. - Original Message - From: Keith ks.steinbac...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Date sent: Tue, 13 Nov 2012 21:45:40 -0600 Subject: [Audyssey] Mush client madness and another question about alter aeon Okay, I've tried the mush z backup installation kits from the mushz site, none of them work. same error about a drop box missing invalid path or some crap like that. When I tried to go to the mush site though the alter aeon site, all the plugin links wre dead. Even the guy who made them's website was dead. Re: [Audyssey] Mush client madness and another question about alter aeon
Hi. Monkey Term with MTScripts works with Window-Eyes. Send tells to Mathayas on Alter Aeon that's me for help and support with it. There are links to it on the Alter Aeon website just after the links to Mush Client. I'm loged in often and I'm known for working with people to get it set up and explaining how it all works. I'll probably be releasing another version in a few days, I have an unpublished copy that I'm having people test at the moment. There are issues caused by the way that I support the mud sound protocol versis the frequency of changes to the sounds by Alter Aeon staffmembers, such that every time a single sound is changed my pack is in need of updating, and updating requires sorting through more than 400 sound files to try and figure out what was changed as I haven't gotten Dentin to create a listing of recently changed files just yet. No hard feelings toward him on that either, as the big issue is the way I'm supporting msp, but other than that it's the best way to go at it that I know of on account of it's being more responsive do to not having to search multiple folders for sounds. The last released version of MTScripts 5.1.5.4 or 5154 plays loads of buzzing noises throughout play do to the fact that Alter Aeon is trying to play sounds that don't exist. I've been waiting for development of sounds to slow down a bit before I release another one in the hopes that it wouldn't do the exact same thing just a few days after I got it out the door. Re: [Audyssey] Mush Client and Windows 7?
*Or* it might be because I am trying to install the portable version of Mush on my new computer and have absolutely no idea where the hell Windows 7 wants me to put things, so they work. If anyone has a very simple, step by step instructions on how to install Mush Client, so it all works like it once did in Windows XP, I would be very grateful. This is really getting to me! I'm pretty certain .ogg and .wav files work well at the same time. I've got a few wavs for alteraeon set up, and the majority of the soundpack is .ogg. There's a special plugin to play the ogg files though, so that could be part of it. - Original Message - From: Dennis Towne s...@xirr.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Date sent: Mon, 1 Oct 2012 17:21:58 -0700 Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Mush client help Implementation of sound in most clients really isn't that high quality. Re: [Audyssey] Mush client help
That depends on what you want to do. If you just want to trigger on a line of text to do something, then the following should help: Basically, in the trigger dialog (control shift eight) there are four important fields. The first is the trigger box, where you paste in the line of text you want the client to trigger on. The second is the send box, where you enter the text you want sent the match. The third important element is the send to list. Here, you select where you want to send whatever you have in the send box. You could use this to send to the mud, or a plugin, for example. The last important item is the omit from output checkbox. I'll explain in more detail below: When you create a trigger, you are telling your client that when it recieves a certain line of text it needs to do something. That something could be send a command to the mud you're playing, send something to a scrip file, or just stop the line from showing up on your screen. The trigger box (the edit field you are in when you hit add) is where you tell the client what line of text you want it to trigger on. Usually, you'll want to copy and paste in a line of text from the mud. If your text contains variables (a name, a gender or an object) you can replace that portion of the string with * (asterisk). For example: Bob tells Joe to go to the movies. If you wanted the client to trigger on that line, but make sure that the name bob could change, you would use: * tells Joe to go to the movies. Once you have the trigger on text set up, you need to tell your client what to do with it. Press alt s to move to the send box, and type out what you want to have the client send. Let's say you wanted to make a trigger to cast a heal spell on a person when they asked. Your trigger would look like: Trigger on: * asks for a heal. Send: cast heal %1 The %1 in the send box references the * you put in your trigger on text. The number after the % tells the client which asterisk to look at. In this case, you wanted the name of the person asking for a heal, so you would use %1. If you had multiple asterisks in your trigger on text, the number after the % goes in order. Next, press tab twice to move to the send to list. Here is where you specify where the data in the send box goes. There are several different options, but the two I'm going to cover are world and script. World is the first option in the list, and it tells the client to send something to the mud. If you were to use the above example of a heal trigger, you would want to set the send to box to world, so that the mud gets the line cast heal %1 Note that the %1 will have transformed into whatever was in the asterisk in your trigger on text. The other option I'm going to discuss is script. This tells the mud to send your information in the send box to a plugin. I'm not sure exactly how it works, so you'll have to experiment with that part. The last thing I want to go over is the omit from output checkbox. This, in my opinion, is one of the best features of the client. If you put a line of text in the trigger on field, and check this box, the line you specified will not show up on your screen and will not be processed by plugins. This is really good for spam management. Hope this rather lengthy message helps, John.
