Hi Karl,
That's not too good. SAPI 5.1 voices like Mike, Mary, and Sam aren't
compatible with 5.3 and 5.4 and let's hope they didn't overwrite any
critical files or you are screwed. The only way I know of to remove
them is to edit the registry with regedit and remove the voices from
your list of S
Hi,
No, that is not correct. Windows XP ships with SAPI 5.1. Windows Vista
ships with SAPI 5.3, and Windows 7 ships with 5.4. Honestly, please,
do a little research before passing on incorrect information like
this.
As for Mike, Mary, and Sam they are available for SAPI 4.0, 5.0, and
5.1, but wer

You should be able to remove the voices

You should be able to remove the voices from add remove programs

Hi all,
I have gotten Microsoft Mike and Marry voices on my Windows 7 machine, and
neither of them will work. When I cycle through voices in games such as Jim
Kitchen's, when cycling past these voices, the games crash. Does anyone know
of a way to remove or at least disable these voices?

Hi,
Actually, it is better than that. Around year 2000 or so ID Software
released the quake 1 engine as open source as well as the quake pak file
format. The only thing that wasn't open sourced was the pak file
containing the graphics and sounds. However, anyone hosting the link to
the source c

can download the source code and shareware game, however, the full
game is still under copyr

Ari, I use EBay all the time
Ari, I use EBay all the time with no probs at all.As for
getting it in your country, I'd think you can, but am not sure...
As for Quake, alas, no, I know of no store at present that has it
aside from *well, you asked me not to say it!* lol! So I won't...
You should know though,
But, please don't say ebay, as I'm not even sure I can use it in this
country and I'm absolutely scared of fraudsters and scams because I've heard
so much about this happening on ebay, is there any solution to where a
person can get the game Quake? Is there any propper, trusted store who has

Zack, when you hear a turn sound moving in a particular direction
ahead of you, continue moving forward until you hear that sound play

then press the ap
Hi,
I managed to fix the Sapi 5 issue by trying the procedure suggested by Sean
Mealin on this list. Thanks, Sean, it worked, though I never would have
thought it would.
In any case, I can now play AudioQuake again, and Monty, among other games.
The only downside to this situation is that I
