Dear all,
I’m happy to announce the new gem5 Jira issue tracking system:
https://gem5.atlassian.net .In the spirit of gem5's open, collaborative
philosophy, this is publicly facing instance; allowing anyone to view and
creates issues.
At UC Davis, we've been using Jira for about two weeks now

It seems like there may be some value in adding "systemc" as an official tag,
but, from what I can see, most of the other incorrect tags are mapped pretty
cleanly to existing ones.
Would anyone have any objection to adding "systemc" as a tag in MAINTAINERS?

Dear all,
As you know, at the end of this quarter we will be releasing gem5-19, the
first official release of gem5. As part of this release we'd like to change
our git branching structure. Therefore, I'm writing to ask for feedback on
what we have planned and whether it can be improved upon.
Ciro and Andrea,
I appreciate both of your concerns. My reason for wanting to have a procedure
for abandoning changes is, right now, we have close to 250 open changes on
Gerrit, about 50 of which have not been updated in the last year. This feels,
to me, to be a little bit unmanageable and
a patchset is a big step, so we should
make sure the contributor is unreachable beforehand.

Dear all,
On this mailing-list we have previously discussed permitting branching
within the gem5 repo under certain circumstances. While I believe many were
in favor of this to some extent, I want to keep this topic open for
discussion to ensure the community is comfortable with any changes.
Apologies to all for this force push on Gerrit. Complete accident!
This commit was supposed to stop non-maintainers from modifying the master
branch as part of our "master-as-stable/develop-branch" transition. Though

Dear all,
As part of the gem5 20 release, we want to improve the way we handle the
gem5 resources. What I mean by resources are things such as test programs,
images, kernels, etc; stuff that we don't strictly need to compile or run
gem5, but we frequently use (and/or may be difficult to

example test to the nightly. This test is very long. It does pass, but it
takes hours to complete. With this commit:
