I'm trying to upgrade dhcpcd to 5.2.8 (from 4.0.15). Currently it's not
working so good... It compiles fine, gets a lease when rebooting... but
ntp-client is not able to sync (to a remote ntp-server)... I'm also
running a local maradns for dns-caching but no lookups are possible

It seems you have an old driver version that doesn't match the server
