Below is the solution of what was wrong and the
summary:
1) openoffice was installed with:
emerge openoffice-bin
(no LANGUAGE, LINGUAS etc. variable)
2) Launching OO
$ locales
LANG=
LC_CTYPE=POSIX
LC_NUMERIC=POSIX
LC_TIME=POSIX
LC_COLLATE=POSIX
LC_MONETARY=POSIX
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

In OO2, I can no longer type the áéíóú characters, but I CAN type the ñ
character. )I using KDE and
US and ES_es keyword settings).

such as Mozilla Thunderbird?
What specific Polish characters are you missing, and
how do normally
compose them? If you tell me how you expect to
compose them, I'll test
