Try to change your temp directory to other partition with more free space,
and check in ~/.gimpx.x/folder
and find a file called gimpswap. just, delete the files. and restart gimp.

decompose has a new location; and everything else should work the same.
decompose is now located at Image --Filters --Colors --Decompose
things have moved around some, it took me a while to get used to
I recently asked a question on the Decompose function and where it had
gone to in the Gimp V2. This was promptly answered. I use this function
as part of a process flow to change the blue colour in sky without
