Is there a link on gimp.org with a dot rather than a hyphen?
Or did you get the wrong site after typing it in?

The issue is that GIMP is among a number of applications that do not update

I scanned some microfilm yesterday. For some reason the software does not
support JPEG so I scanned into TIFF format, putting 5 images in each TIFF
file to reduce the number of times I had to enter a file name.
When I got home I used GIMP to extract the individual images into JPEGs.

Hi All,
I thought it was impossible (after a few hours of searching) to save a
jpeg without a color profile from within gimp - I have been informed
however that it is possible - I just wasn't given any details ;)
My problem is that when I save a jpeg from gimp, it saves the sRGB color
profile
to a
sinusoidal map. I looked around for plugins that could do this, as well
as other programs, but couldn't find anything useful.
I'm fairly new to the GIMP, so I may very well just be missing
something. I'd be willing to take a stab at writing a plugin if one
doesn't already exist.
Thanks :)

Hi all.
And thanks for the responses everybody. I solved this problem by cd'ing
into the intended directory and issuing the command ttmkfdir -o
fonts.dir. This in combination with chkfontpath and restart of the X
font server did the trick!

I have finally come to the question below:
My understanding about .ttf's is that they're supported by xfs; Gimp
uses the xfonts; should Gimp be able to use the .tff's due to the
flexibility of xfs?
Thanks for any replies...
