For example, the URL ftp://mandrake.contactel.cz/Mandrake-devel/cooker/cooker/Mandrake/RPMS/gimp2_0-2.0.1-1mdk.i586.rpm has got an rpm file that most likely will install on a fresh mandrake 10 system. I did download the main GIMP 2.01 tar.gz and in the install notes it says there are about 7 other files I need to download and install the following files: 1. Do not try to use an older GTK+ version (1.2.x), it will not work. GTK+-2.2 itself needs recent versions of GLib, Pango and ATK. Sources for these can be grabbed from ftp://ftp.gtk.org/. GTK+-2.x and friends can be installed side by side with GTK+-1.2. 3. We require PangoFT2, a Pango backend that uses FreeType2. Make sure you have FreeType2 and fontconfig installed before you compile Pango. FreeType2 can be downloaded from http://www.freetype.org/. Fontconfig from http://x2.freedesktop.org/software/fontconfig. 4. We use libart2. OK, I need some help. Out of curiosity I downloaded ALL the needed files. 14 in all, 45Mb's total. I would appreciated some help in the ORDER in which to install these files, pretty please GTK+ libart (tar.tar) Pango gimp-print GtkHTML Library (tar.tar) libjpeg (tar.tar) libpng libtiff AA-lib libexif libmng libRSVG libwmf There was one that I could not find and I know how to scour the web pretty good when I want to: Font Configuration Library So if anyone has the most up to date version of this one, a link please. Hiya Dave, Where do I get pre built binaries for Mandrake 10?? I wanted to check up on the Gimp.org but it's been down for the last 3 days. I run Mozilla here on Windows XP and Mandrake 10 and both sides are not letting me in. Also tried out IE and Konquorer, same thing. Sites down so I can't check up on anything and no one is giving me any feed back on the status of the site so far! :-( Wrote Sven and asked and wrote the WinGIMP Yahoo group and asked, nada!!! :-( So if you know where I can obtain a prebuilt binary and if you know what all I will have to install along with it then please link me up. I've wasted too many nights pulling out my hair over this stuff. I'm an artist not techie person. If I can't install a workable version of a needed piece of software without all this extra work then it's nice to know I have choices on another plateform. [Gimp-user] Questions about Kontact and Knode....
Hi all, Kontact is just great so far, KDE is really coming along wonderfully!! :-) In Kontact I want to set up a weather thingy in the Summary area and I have NO idea what to do to get an address to put in the set up area. I live in Belmont, California, USA so I would like to get weather in my own bay area if that's possible?? This pertains to the named icons which I like to use the text under the icons. Is there a way to rename the icons?? My god they put suck long names on these icons it's just too much. Like Subscribe to Newsgroups could easily be shortened up to Subscribe, Stop Network to simply Stop is pretty self explainetory and on and on. If this is possible can you direct me to WHERE and HOW I would go about doing this?? Kontacts still does not import CVS address books right or Windows writes them wrong, not sure which. Luckily Mozilla (Windows) imports Outlook Expresses .WAB address books and exports it to an importational .ldif. I know that Kontact will import V cards from Outlook Express but 200 addresses, one at a time is just to much time. So hopefully the folks that area coding this wonderful address book will figure out a way to import the .wab address book and save those of us that are slowly migrating from Windows a little time. [Gimp-user] GIMP 2.0 for Mandrake 10?
Hi, I run both WinXP Pro and Mandrake 10.0 was just loaded up yesterday. I have played with Mandrake for a couple of years now on and off but mostly off to be honest. So I'm not much into CVSing or compiling especially from what I read for compiling the GIMP 2.0 from scratch ( I need: pkg-config, GTK+ 2.2.2, GLib 2.2.0, Pango 1.2.0, ATK 1.2.0, FreeType2, Fontconfig, libart2). I'm not up to that, got too much going on so I was wondering if anyone has compiled an RPM of GIMP 2.0 for Mandrake 10.0 or are planning to and if so please post here with a link??
