GIMP or otherwise, minor impediments like these are quite annoying. http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html is the long answer. TL;DR version: the group reply address is already in the email headers, your email client should give you a function to use that or the author reply address at your choice – if it doesn't, that's a bug in the client. Mailing lists that do change headers are providing bug compatibility (some people think that's a good thing, I guess). If Hotmail doesn't have a reply-to-group function as well as reply-to-author, I guess you could hit reply-to-all? Or get a better email client ;-) best regards, Kevin ___ gimp-user-list mailing list gimp-user-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list

[Gimp-user] Reply via List Headers [was: Re: Calm and rational Save/Export workflow report ; )]
Von: Richard Gitschlag strata_ran...@hotmail.com Then the real question is why every time I hit Reply, Hotmail prefills my form with the individual user's email instead of the mailing list's, and I have to change it every time before hitting Send. GIMP or otherwise, minor impediments like these are quite annoying. That probably happens because Hotmail doesn't handle the List headers that are part of each message, e.g.: List-Id: GIMP Developer List gimp-developer-list.gnome.org List-Unsubscribe: http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/options/gimp-developer-list, mailto:gimp-developer-list-requ...@gnome.org?subject=unsubscribe List-Archive: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-developer-list/ List-Post: mailto:gimp-developer-l...@gnome.org List-Help: mailto:gimp-developer-list-requ...@gnome.org?subject=help List-Subscribe: http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer-list, mailto:gimp-developer-list-requ...@gnome.org?subject=subscribe It should be rather easy for Hotmail's developers with their near limitless resources to implement a List Reply feature (or make Reply behave differently for list mails, although this may break other users' expectations). Additional features like links to the archive, unsubscribe or subscribe would be possible as well. This version of Thunderbird does the same thing (replies to the individual poster, instead of the list). Von: Jay Smith j...@jaysmith.com Michael, I use Thunderbird 3.1.10 -- not the latest version, but quite happy with it. This version of Thunderbird does the same thing (replies to the individual poster, instead of the list). There are or have been extensions to provide list reply commands - I have used those myself. Current Thunderbird versions provide them without the need of extensions. In the last few years, the Gimp lists are the _only_ lists I receive that result in this behavior. Initially, I was quite annoyed by lists that had no reply-to set - but that was years ago. Nowadays, I like the consistent behavior of reply going to the author, and list reply going to the list. Elitist attitude, I guess, but it still feels good :) Regards, Michael -- Empfehlen Sie GMX DSL Ihren Freunden und Bekannten und wir belohnen Sie mit bis zu 50,- Euro! https://freundschaftswerbung.gmx.de ___ gimp-user-list mailing list gimp-user-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list

That button was in Thunderbird 11 (IIRC) and may have been in some earlier versions). I can't tell when I appeared if it isn't available in Thunderbird 3. My distro recently did a big jump in Thunderbird version from 3 to 11. In the last few years, the Gimp lists are the _only_ lists I receive that result in this behavior. I know what you mean. [Gimp-user] Brief inquiry about gimp.org
Hello, I am interested in placing a text link on your page: http://www.gimp.org/mail_lists.html The link would point to a page on a website that is relevant to your page and may be useful to your site visitors. Please note that the link must NOT be a site wide link but should be a single page link. It would be great if the link could be inside a sentence or two that could be written into the content so that it reads well (it won't be overly promotional or lengthy). It could also be a sentence that already exists on the page. I am happy to reimburse you for your time and effort in placing the link live for 1 year. I am hoping that it would not have a no follow tag and advertisement/sponsor labels. Hoping for your positive response. Best Regards! [Gimp-user] problem with brush dynamics
OK, so how do you copy the dynamics? I can't find a Dynamics Menu I found the dynamics editor, but its menu has nothing but a checkbox reading Edit active dynamics. Hate it when you can't get to step 1. Did you create a copy of the dynamics? THhe ones that come with GIMP are not editable (same for other resources, e.g. brushes). OK, just tried this and it works. Open 'dynamics menu' and duplicate one of the presets then you can access the duplicated preset in 'dynamic menu editor' and do what you want.
