Mikel, there are more apps taking screenshots to a clipboard than opening
them in GIMP so it'd be useful :). I use ScreenCloud.

I don't know about other applications, but xfce4-screenshooter does give
you the option of editing the capture on the GIMP.

Normal screens: gimp and toolbox ok.
Seperate xscreens nvidia: gimp 2.8 toolbox gone in single window or not single
