Hi all,
first post to this ML. Awhile back I saw a web site for a group doing
independant development on Gimp for cinematic effects etc.
I lost it.
Anyone heard of this?

Did anyone stop to consider some of are subscribed to multiple lists, often
generating hundreds of messages per day of nonsense and garbage?
it is very annoying top have to wade through tons of garbage as it is, and
this thread rates up there with some of the worst crap I have seen anywhere.

Rendering? not likely.
There is nothing there that indicates this at all.
The transparent "gel" bubbles are a very easy effect to create in a paint
program and the backgrounds and metallics can easily be done using masks and
layers.
If anyone is really interested, I could whip up a quick tutori
Okay,
I got a lot more responses on this than I thought I would. Being new to GIMP<
I have not really seen a lot of resources for it, at least not real in depth
ones.
I will have a web-site up shortly with a GIMP page with nothing but tutorials

head on the mailing list.
After reposting a message to this group from Spaceward Graphics' Mark
Lister regarding feedback of about whether they should do a linux port or
not, some sorry loser decided to register a complain
While that is correct that multiple processors are handled by the OS itself,
assuming this is the entire answer is incorrect. The Application itself has to
be written to take advantage of this function. Unless GIMP has multithreading
built into it, it will not take advantage of multiple processors
