in ~/Library/Preferences and then reinstall it along with the GWT plugin?

I am also completely unable to run developer mode in Chrome on OSX. I
have the plugin installed, the toolbox in the omnibar is red, it says
"The host at 127.0.0.1 is allowed to use the plugin"... seems like
everything should work, but it just prompts me over and over to
install the plugin.

I've never been able to get it working on Mac since it was released. I'm on
the dev channel. It always shows the missing plugin even though the red
google toolbox shows in the omni bar.

OK - I confirm that downgrading the plugin version from 1.0.9614 to
1.0.9521 gets dev mode on Windows working again.
But after a short time Chrome auto-updates the GWT plugin back to
version 1.0.9614, and everything does back to not working.

This solution fixed the problem for me as well. I'm on a 64-bit Windows

I'm seeing the same issue - no gray GWT toolbox, just the "Development
mode requires..." yellow box. Was working earlier today. Restart of
Chrome doesn't help, I'll try a reboot to see if that clears it.

cause you to see that behavior. What version are you seeing in
chrome://extensions for those that are having problems? Does restarting
