Just curious Which kind of polymer is it? polyurethane? phenolic? epoxy?
If you say it is not an injected piece, I guess it is a termostable rosin.

With MDF I suppose if you immersed the wheel in water it would swell
(but if you keep your instrument in a bucket of water, that's likely
to be the least of your problems). For normal use, however, humidity
does not affect MDF. It is, in fact, made from wood particles in a
resin binder.
this symphony is a realy better buy than a musikit anyway , at
700-800. , my son have one , and he is ok with this .sylvain-
