Most of the dedicated servers are free and have no restrictions on that (If
you do not own CSS, you can still download the dedicated server for it)..
The log-in requirement for CS:GO is going to expire as it moves out of beta
and into full usage. I expect the DS will be free at that point without
In a nutshell:
When the policy of Truth was enacted, TF2 servers that were hiding bots,
Fake Client counts and so forth were removed from the server browser, the
OP server community was effectively removed because of this.
This admin is now pissed since he can find other servers in the browser
Cool story bro, I'd read it again..

In any case, he is stating a legitimate issue, but I do not believe Valve
would address it within the mailing-list, it might be best to take it
directly to Valve to see if there is anything that can be done that has not

In a general sense, the issue you will see with Virtualization is if the
hardware itself gets busy, you're VM will not get CPU cycles it needs.
(%ACTIVE is the VMware term) If you can guarantee the hardware won't get
that busy, you should be alright, but if there is a chance, it mgiht or you
don't
This feature is already available via a plugin I believe, but for most
server admins, having it set to 1 would be a good idea, you can then have
another tool to track potential troublemakers, if we are seeing a player
blocked by a good number of the regulars on the server, take a look and
Ashkerin, I could be wrong but I was under the impression it was legal as
long as whomever has the compiled binary has relatively simple access to
the source code. AKA the Binary only download and the source as
a separate package is just fine. As long as it's available. A subtle
distinction but
I am all for a list with just update info for Source engine games no posts

Unless my math is off this is my guess
A full 15 slots at sv_maxrate 100 will take about a 2.4mbs connection of
bandwidth. (This formula)
Bandwidth (bytes/sec) = Player Slots * sv_maxrate (bit/s) value * 8
Explanation of the formula is here

In a general sense, there are a couple of client side plug-ins that do in
fact serve a valid purpose, POV-Recorder, the ESEA Client plug-in and a
couple of others. At this point I am definitely for simply locking out
plug-ins on the client side, but I would rather not lose some of the
If you want to go the SAN route with automatic failover of the Cluster, ESXi
is not the solution, you would need to go with the VSphere solution to get
all the bells and whistles you would need. What you basically asking for is
the feature set of a High Availability Datacenter solution that ESXi
RCON Lock, Kigen's and a few other plugins check and handle this exploit.
Any plugin can be dropped into a client so it's not a 'sourcemod' issue or a
'mani' issue but is simply idiot users trying to cheat the system.

Run SRCDS as a specific user account (not System which is default and not a
recommendation anyways) and deny rights to that particular user to any
file/directory you don't want the process to read or change.

It is an issue with router loopback..
When you start a lobby, it will present your local LAN ip to all clients
(192.168.xx.xx) which is sent to the other members of the lobby. This will
automatically fail.
You want to check for the loopback on the router, so if you use your public
