Don't what the cause of all that was.
But, shutting down all games and restarting, that symptom went away.
I assume some file or binary was locked or something.

Seems fixed for me now.
The server seemed unwilling to update from OB Server 187 to 188 for some reason.
HLDSUpdateTool said (lied) that the installation was up to date.
But, when I would run it again, and it would STILL say it needed to update from
187 to 188.
I kept trying again several times
I got hit by the same thing, symbolic link of old new to new .so file worked to
bring 1 of my (CentOS) servers up - but sans mods of course.
No official word from Valve yet on at least acknowledging the issue?
Just catching up on today's/last-night's thread, but I didn't see any Valve
responses

They already pushed another update to fix it, make sure you remove any
combination of weapon
(rocket launcher) and boots that allows some unexpected behavior (apparently
uncapped speed).

Maybe I missed the details on some changes. Haven't played myself much the
last 3-4 weeks. Were there any changes in the releases during that time that
would allow soldiers to be flying all over the place? Seems like they are
getting way more speed and air-time before than I recall.
Not

reporting, etc. anyway - so Valve doesn't need to have it.
I must say it again, a most Excellent suggestion Carl!

Just doing some optimizing of my TF2 servers. I was wondering if anybody on
here had any recommended settings for sv_minrate and sv_maxrate -
specifically as it might apply to TF2 servers running greater than the
Valve-default-limit of 24-players? I allow 32, and I do see a little bit of
lag
coinciding
with that stuff. Haven't tested under usual load yet (middle of the night
without many players yet), but so far looks good! and that's with SourceMod
still enabled!
Thanks!

Glad to hear that SteamCMD is slated to at least not require an account that

Alas, I see at least 5 crash-dumps on my server since remotely applying the
update this afternoon. I will troubleshoot when I get home from the office
later to ensure it's not any server-side mod's contributing, etc. (all the
usual stuff). Where I am at right now I can't do that.
