Hi,
earlier I have reported to you a problem of the LaserJet P2015 with its
original PostScript PPD from the HPLIP package (or from OpenPrinting):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/99316
A user has contributed a solution in the User Notes section of

and

This segfault only happens when the KRGB patch is applied to
GhostScript, otherwise not. So the bug must be in the KRGB patch.
I am currently merging ESP GhostScript into GPL GhostScript as
Hi,
I have installed HPLIP 1.7.3 now and packaged it also for Ubuntu. At
first I can say that the automatic installer works nicely. I have
installed with it on a 64-bit box with Ubuntu Feisty.
I have found the following bugs:
1. On the Print Settings tab of the Toolbox near the top there is
is a new feature for xsane. Xsane 0.92 did not
have this feature. Normally I use batch for ADF scanning with
scanimage. Can you try ADF scanning with the batch setting on in the
Advanced menu.

Subject: [HPLIP-Devel] Scanning problem with HP LaserJet 3390 AIO
Hi,
I am scanning with this device via xsane and I have tested
both via USB and via network.

Hi,
I have found a bg in the current HPLIP (1.7.1). I have run lpinfo -v
and saw the hp:/... URI of my HP LaserJet 3390 (on USB) twice. I found
that strange and tried starting the CUPS backends manually. There I
found out that hpfax gives
The attached patch (to apply to the hpfax.py file) fixes the problem.

Hey Till,
Can I get an example of what you are trying to fax?
Nothing special needed, arbitrary files plus a cover sheet make

When I start the hp-toolbox and click on the Make Copies button, I get
a GUI to control the copying functions of my printer. Problem is that
there is no button to choose whether the documents in the ADF are
double-sided or whether the copy should be printed double-sided. On the

Hi,
HPLIP 1.7.1 solved the faxing problem under Debian and Ubuntu Edgy and
Feisty. See

But this made me discovering another bug. A can fax as long as I do not

The HP developers have already updated the OpenPrinting database. Get

Hi,
the printers
HP OfficeJet Pro K550
HP OfficeJet Pro K850
are not listed in the file
/usr/share/hplip/data/xml/models.xml
but they are correctly working with HPLIP and HPIJS (up to now I tested
only the K850 but the K550 is also missing). hp-setup and lpinfo -v
show the printer.

If there are never 2 files with contradicting entries about the

will be no problem, but if HPLIP-0.9.6.xml tells

A first test has given following results:
- The PPDs for both print and fax queues of the HP PhotoSmart 2600 are
assigned correctly now by the web interface of CUPS. So each queue can
simply be set up with two clicks.
- In hp-sendfax there are problems with conversion and faxing of some
files
Thanks for the patch.
I forward this upstream, so that in the future HPLIP and BEH will simply
work together.
Dave, Don, what about applying this patch?

I recommend that a release candidate gets published before a new version
of HPLIP comes out. You can decide on making the release candidate only
available to selected persons (like HPLIP maintainers of distros) or to
the hplip-devel list. So the final versions published to end users will

Thanks for the patch, exactly what I did, but then you will need to do
the same also for the other flavors of this model: PSC_950,
PSC_950vr, and PSC_950xi (as listed in case-model section.
Probably you also need to do this for all entries with case-model
section.
