upgrade problem

We are a z/OS shop and I have a problem. For years we would order a new version of software I would lay it down,get an iplable test system and then get (hire) help to setup a production system and move catalogs,data and general upgrade things. Well I order z/OS1.7(we are a 1.6 shop) and there

I want to copy my sysres pack to an empty vol. I know I need to clip itthe new pack, but can I then just do a pack to pack copy or will I have to dump the sysres pack then restore to the new pack?Also if I have to dump it, will I need to do a logical dump so I can preserve the volser of the maint

Roberto, I saw something simular to this before I asked the question. In that and this example it looks as if the jobname you want to retreive must by the users name +1 character (much like sdsf 3.8) . Or am I reading too much into it?? Thanks mace

I have some fixes to put on a product. I have ftp'ed them to my pc then used ind$file(through pcomm) to place them in a dataset on the mainframe. So now I have 31 fixes in a dataset I have tried to receive them but I get when the 1st card is read I get:
