I see no difficulties except the following: If the usercat containing the SMF datasets needs maintenance, you will need to create/format new MAN* datasets in another catalog, until the repairs can be made. This is (IMO) a serious PITA. IF no maintenance is ever needed on this ucat, you are safe.
