Sourabh,
I doubt if there is any organization across the world which organize a
Parallel Sysplex training specific.. I would say either you have to read
for urself or look at someone who is experienced and if they r interested
to guide.. And i dont believe it as a tough subject to read and
Hello Ravi,
I have gone through many of the syspelx manual and have
basic knowledge. But still I am looking for official training to clear my
understanding and get expertise . you looks to be sysplex expert, so can
you share some document, if you have.
Regards
Saurabh

Maybe except IBM ...and few others.
See IBM Learning Services. You should find several courses related to
Parallel Sysplex.

Yes, I checked for IBM learning. But there is no online classes available for

Well, did you checked with your LOCAL IBMer?
If you come across any one of training orgnization, please share detail.
There are kind trainers lurking on IBM-MAIN.
Hello Elardus,
I have checked with local IBM training dept.
But they don't conduct any public batches for these classes. Also we don't
have any third party training vendor, who can help in this training. So
request you to provide provide me any information you have
Hi Saurabh,
I would think that virtual SYSPLEX training would be very difficult to
provide, since you would need access to HMC hardware consoles and other
equipment (at least one system z machine where you could define a coupling

Hello Rroger,
I have system programming skill as well as little administration knowledge
on cics and db2. I have read many redbook on this and started working.
But still wanted to attend official class a clear basics and get more
knowledge . If you come across any such training organization

Hi,
you might want to take a look at this one from Interskill.

What you have said was true in the past, about jobs having more data in SMF
than STCs sometimes did. Some STCs must still be single step, such as an
external writer or anything running a program in the PPT. This is not true of
CICS. We run multi-step CICS regions as started jobs (not tasks) as

I'm still in a bit of a quandry as to what you want to accomplish. Is this for
an application which you are writing, or one which is already written by
someone else. If you are writing it, why use 3270? Why not just use HTTP or
some other IP protocol?
Or why not just open multiple 3270
Jeff,
We are going to have to change one our SYSPLEX members from MST to CEST. To
do this we will need to convert DFSMSRMM to Common Time Support.
not sure what you mean exactly by change.. Could this simply be changing
the time zone offset, or changing the processor/hardware clock?
Hello All,
I'm researching options in extending 3270 screens into a GUI on the PC.
I'm know that 3270 screen scrapers are available but that's not exactly
what we want. We would like to be able to have say 1 PC session with
multiple windows/tabs opened, each showing something different

Yeah, that's another way of doing this.Basically what I'm looking
for is some sort of framework on the Mainframe side that will accept
input of data and how we want it displayed and then handles the
transmission to some PC component (either to a browser or to a
standalone app) and

We are more likely to eliminate the z than upgrade it. But, we do use some
ESCON. We use them for: CTC; to implement VTAM cross domain and XCF
communications for *basic* sysplex; 3490 external tape drive, for external use
(very rare); Visara/local 3270 controller for z/OS consoles.

You can do at least part of this with 3270. The Nomad2 product does part of
it,
but it drives the 3270 itself basically using alternate screen stuff. Only one
piece of the screen is allowed to input and the rest can have scrolling data in
multiple pieces that are driven by the Nomad2
