Some of my users are experiancing a problem when they
try to send a message to a user on a domain that is not
hosted by me.
Learn the lingo: your users "relay" their outbound mail through your
Imail server.

How do you set up I mail or NT4 iis4 to send a form from a web page to an
email address.I have made a application form page with
The form Is a .htm,
I believe the problem lie with the smtp server set up, either in iis, or
imail. I don't know, At one point I had the form working but am not sure
which correction to the e server started it, as I can't seem to duplicate.
The form works fine with out sending to an email, if it
I've written a VisualBasic5 program which monitors server uptime from across the net.

MS SMTP service running, necessarily, on a non-standard port for SMPT
service would be pretty a obscure spam target, but there isn't away in
MS SMTP to restrict relay?
Len, actually MS SMTP can be set up against open

Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] NT Quota mgt and Imail react? 3rd try
Hey, doesn't any body here already use a hard quota mgr with Imail user dir's?
How come these following rules don't work??? I sent these rules up, along
with others to filter out .vbs and other known virus types on my mailing
lists. I have a seperate rules.ima file with these rules in it, in a test
mailing list. I sent a .doc attachment to the list and it got through.
I'm struggling with the same thing right now. It seems like the Front Page
Server Extensions have to be installed, but I'm not certain how to configure
them after that. Heck, I'm not even certain that they're _required_ when
using IIS! I know that they're required when using PWS under NT

Yes you have to install the extensions in iis, the latest version is out, I
have installed them. I have configured them for each site needed to. And
inside the extension I have configured the mail setting for that virtual
host, which is simply Mail.domainname.com, for both selections with
Frontpage sending form results via email has nothing to do with the mail server, as
the Frontpage extensions on the web server actually send the email. It's not exactly a
cgi process, or so I'm led to believe, but that argument is left to my betters...
You need the Frontpage extensions

The problem is that if you send a "clean" email with the attachment the
rules catch the attachments and delete it. IF you FORWARD and email with an
attachement the same rules do not catch it. Even if I search the header and
body of the email.
I just ran a test where I sent a new email
I just ran a test where I sent a new email to my test list with a
doc attach. It didn't get through. So I sent myself an email
with the same doc attach, then forwarded it to my test list. It
got through. Very puzzling. Any ideas?
I think I know what it may be.
In most cases, file
But I have rules looking for theses file types in the header and in the
body. Two rules for each file type.

I'm not sure if this is what your looking for. Add this line in your
frontpg.ini, usually located in C:\WINNT\ directory:
SMTPHost=domain.com. 'domain.com' is your mail server.
