OK, things went from bad to worse in a hurry this morning. Someone pulled
the plug around 14:00. Whatever little propagation was present just dropped
like a stone, although there was a hint of dawn recovery at 14:15. Nick's
DX Fishbarrel showed the identical trend, so nothing local here! What
Bravo, Gary! An invaluable article! I've saved it for reference

As most of you know, there has been quite a lot of interest in the new

Stephen, it's easy when you have a SDR that you can see the classic IBOC
bands. Otherwise, I think they'll sound very similar. The IBOC will sound
more like white noise, while the jammer is lower pitched and

Colin, that sounds like a fascinating set-up. Any chance to add a real MW
rig to that large delta loop? I'm sure that you could probably tweak things
a bit more with using an AOR 7030+ for instance rather than the ham rig.
What about a SDR? I have a spare SDR-IQ you could borrow. I'd sure be
Listened this morning from 13:35 to about 14:26. Today, my observations
more closely paralleled Nick's DX Fishbarrel, with the Japanese first tier
stations back at good strength, especially over the lower half of the band.
A fair amount of Chinese activity, but down from yesterday's. A fine dawn
Barry, I had forgotten about your website. Yes, I've used it before, and
it's excellent, and way, way better than the CBC website. No echo tonight
so far at 02:58 UTC, and the one CBC I can hear is down a bit in the mud
with several cochannels...Walt

Here in Victoria, I can see 1215 with a weak carrier. Nothing else on the
frequencies below.Walt

By morning at least the X-band should be clear

Right, Tim. What a difference a day makes, and what NOAA says about

Nick, I happened to have a wav file from Sept 24th at 13:00. Just an ID for

but potentially could be faint time pips in the background (but as
Listened this morning from 14:05 and conditions, unlike for Bill in AZ were
