South America at the moment) - "please do not be alarmed"(!), morse and
sweep tones.

Does anyone have any ideas about the source of the Arabic chanting and
warble (not necessarily the same source but possibly related) heard here
this morning. The warble has been heard for some time but I'm not aware
of the Arabic being reported on
I did find a message on HCDX (7 Dec 08) from A

1350 KCAR, Clarksville TX is listed as low power 410w/65w yet yesterday
Paul Logan in Northern Ireland logged this station at 0300 UTC and I
logged it 0600 UTC. I heard it again at 0600 UTC this morning.
Has the station upped its power and has it been heard in more distant
parts of the US ov
410w is hardly high power in the first place though!

Thanks everyone for the input. I reckoned it was KDHL and am pleased
that is the considered view. Indeed having run the clip very many times
I agree with Markku that KDHL is in there.
It's a lesson in persistence and detective work since for a a long time

Here's my contribution from Scotland on the subject of audio quality.
A recording of WWKB made this morning at 0906 local time (one hour after
sunrise). I'd give it a 9.

Sunday morning (09/12) was an outstanding morning here in SW Scotlandfor
reception of the Prairies/MidWest. Amongst the stations heard betwen
0800 and 1130 UTC were:
680 CJOB Winnipeg, M
940 CJGX Yorkton, SK
1290 CFRW Winnipeg, MB
1430 KLO Ogden, UT
1510 KCKK Littleton, CO
1570 CKMW Winkler, MB
Following on from my post describing the good conditions into Scotland
from the Prairies, I've one UNID.
I heard this station at 1100 UTC on 1510 kHz

I've taken the id clip and repeated it 10 times. It would seem to be
"Newstalk 15-10 K---"

To me it sounds like K S or F A or E R
Goodness only knows what it is!

I have recorded KFNN's top of the hour id from the website and my
recording below contains
3 x (Website id followed by my recording) and then 3 x the two
superimposed on each other:

Hi Kevin, thanks for that. You certainly have to listen lots of times!
If you listen to the last part where the two are superimposed the "---o
Phoenix" becomes pretty clear.

Thanks for that Scott (and to Paul Walker too) It's going to have to go
down as an unid for the moment..
I don't know if you would like to run a bit of this through noise reduction.
