Congratulations to Blackdown! Thanks to your JDK, porting my Java program
from Windows to Linux was more than easy.
I have just finished porting a Java program to Linux using blackdown
116. The result is excellent!
The program was originally developed under INPRISE JBuilder 2.01 on
Win NT4. (www.

Hi,
I'm having some problems with threads, so I need to do a thread dump (same thing
that Ctrl-\ does) but from within the program (i.e., I catch an Exception and
want to do a thread dump that moment). Does anyone here know how to do that?
Basically, I'm getting an "IllegalMonitorStateException:
Hi,
My application uses a JSplitPane in which the top and bottom components

Truely excellant news! I've been using jikes for a while now and have
been very impressed by its speed (even when the incremental compile
option was disabled), but have been worried that IBM might decide to
junk it, sell it for huge amounts of money, etc. Now with this

The Jikes Parser Generator, available in binary form form
alphaworks.ibm.com/formula/jikespg, handles all conventional grammar forms
and can generate output in Java, suitable for use with a parser written in

Sorry for continuing this fairly off-topic thread, but IMHO it

If that's all they claim, they will lose, since portable code has existed
long before their patent. Now, portable code inside web browser may be

I'm happy to spread the news that IBM has released Jikes as open
source. We Java/Linux folks have been happy to have Jikes as a fast,
correct drop-in for javac under Linux. Now, IBM and the Jikes team
have released the sources to Jikes as well, allowing us to look at and
improve the compiler.

There is a collection of grammars available at
