I think that you probably meant that you have Outlook 2010. If you are
using a different Email program then you will need different steps than
those given below.
1. When the cursor is in the message you are creating, use Alt
followed by N followed by A followed by F.
Thanks Kim,.
This will make my life easier at work, I will try your instructions

Hi Rich,
With the title of the Word document highlighted do the following;
1. Press the F2 key. This opens an edit field. Jaws will say, F2 edit,
name of the document.
2. With the title of the document edit field now open you can change any or
all of the title except the file extension. If
Thanks, this kind of worked.
I was in microsoft word , and made the changes then closed out.
When I looked in the files, the document was not there.
I closed out and opened my documents and found it there.
Hm.
Thanks again.

Hi, this is a small matter I guess, but it is irritating. I hope someone out
there uses Thunderbird for e-mail. Whenever JAWS reads my inbox it says
graphic before the e-mail subject. There is a graphic there. Is there a
way to tell JAWS not to read it. I have tried the three verbosity settings,
Brief question from a first-timer. Is there a way to block
text--as in multiple paragraphs--for selection in a document with
JAWS? Like highlighting a certain section of thedocument that is
not just a line, word or paragraph for copying and/or cutting?

Hi Kelby,
Try the information below to see if this will do what you are wanting to
accomplish.
The F8 key in Word is a Toggle. You press the F8 key a different number of
times to select different amounts of text.
Pressing the F8 key 1 time turns extended selection mode on. In this mode

This actually was not what I am asking. Let us say I need to
copy a chapter from a textbook that is several pages long. How
can I do this, other than going paragraph by paragraph and
appending? I know sighted people can do this, and I can do it
quite easily with a notetaker.

Hi Kelby,
You didn't indicate which version of Jaws you are running so, hopefully you
are running Jaws12. Below is a note I have saved but, the steps below will
only work in Jaws12, I am not sure if the will work with any documents /
Files / Books / programs other than MS Word.

Kelby,
select from current position to end of the document with shift plus control
key plus page end.
this will highlight all the text to the end of the document and then I would
press the applications key and up arrow to copy to clipboard. then paste
into a new document with the applications key
Kate, unless I am interpreting your query incorrectly, you do the following
Insert+N, tab once and you should be located on the attach file button.
Click once, pressing the space bar, and you will be presented with the File
dialog. Navigate to the file you want to attach and press enter to
Try using ctrl plus shift, plus page down until you have selected the text
that you want.
Next, use ctrl plus c, to copy, and then paste the materials where you want
it to go.

After you press F8, and cursor placed at the beginning of the first page
of what you want to copy, press ctrl+PageDown the requisite number of
times to copy the number of pages in the chapter, etc. then copy to
clipboard, and paste it in where you want it to be. It may not be as
handy a method

This looks like a good idea if you have JAWS12 and is worth trying, say,
in programs where JAWS Placemarkers can be set.
The fact is that otherwise we must use the keyboard as a somewhat
different means to an end than the mouse user would.
