Hi Gary,
If you look in the default scripts of Jaws 16 & earlier you'll see scripts
for OE, but in Jaws 17 these scripts are not there. These are the scripts
that are necessary for Jaws & OE to play together correctly. Adding those
other scripts might help, but if they don't have default
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the help. That's what I thought but I'm actually using the OE
scripts that Carlos wrote for the outlook express version that I believe he
modified. Maybe I misunderstood that or that those scripts need to be further
modified for jaws 17?

You're welcome, & for everything this list has done for me what I can give

Hi Gary,
That is because Jaws 17 doesn't have Outlook Express scripts, they have been
removed in this version. Use Jaws 16 & earlier for best performance with
OE.
Take care.

Hi Anna, I just uninstalled McAfee total protection from my W-10 computer
running the anniversary update, it has been working very strangely lately. I
am just using the windows defender app right now. Looks good, my computer is
running better without McAfee. I hope this helps you.

Steven, surprisingly, the default is to be off. So I am glad to have found
this info as well.
When you are in the "read messages automatically" control to check or
uncheck, if you tab, Jaws gives you information on the control and the
default status.

Others certainly should correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this problem

Have you tried holding down the lefthand shift key while booting up, this was
supposed to stop startup programmes running I think.
MsConfig32 Has a startup tab as well.

Hi Dright,
Perhaps the message is 'task manager' and not 'taskbar?'
Go to task manager by pressing control+alt+delete. With control tab go to
start aps. there, you wil find a list with your apps, if you tab you will
find anable or disable buttons for each app.
I hope this helps.

Hi friends,
Is there any way to stop JAWS from automatically reading a message when I open
it in Microsoft Outlook 2010, I would like it to just stop on the first line if
possible so that I can read the message with the arrow keys.
Thanks Mike, you do your part and then some.
