Scott, that happens sometimes for no apparent reason. when it does, I just
put up with it and use the windows list dialog. Sometimes I'll reboot which
always takes care of weird behavior like this.
Or, you could try unloading and reloading jaws. Oftee n that helps with
buggy behavior.

I had this problem for a while, and I would switch to an earlier version of
JAWS that worked right with form fields, like JAWS 13. Switching is so easy,
simply press Inseert+F4 to quit jaws, then type windows+R and type in the
word JAWS followed imediately by the version number, such as JAWS13
Sorry, can't help. Just wanted to tell you I'm 1858.

Is there a way to have Jaws
Jaws turns numlock off at startup because it uses the numpad for its
commands, and if numlock is on, then the numpad is not available for jaws
commands.

I suspect that the text in the from field is not appearing exactly as you
say it should in the rule. If you're off by even 1 character, the rule won't
work. Try to find the smallest, most reliable identifying chunk of text that
will identify the messages you want
For example, if the word
to
Allrecipes Daily Dish
, and it worked. Thanks!

1) Place your cursor in any cell on the row that you want to use for column
titles. Or, in any cell in the column you want to use for row titles.
2) open the quick settings dialog with insert+V
3) You'll be placed in the settings search box. Just hit tab and you'll be
placed on the Excel
Of course, you can put a number of the most used features into the quick
access toolbar for a simple way to get at them. Like the paragraph dialog ,
tables dialog , page layout, font and any number of other main dialogs.

I am using office2010 (word and excel) The ribbons are easily navigated with
the JAWS virtual ribbons feature. Even without Virtual ribbons turned on,
the ribbons are no great problem. I would recommend however, that you take
the free jaws training webinar on virtual ribbons, and also the free
Use the speech and sound schemes manager to accomplish your goal. press

you probably have the show all button pressed in Word. I don't know what
version of word you're using, but in word2010, in the home ribbon, under the
paragraph group, there is a button called show all. If that button is
pressed, then every paragraph, page, section mark etc will be read aloud
Actually, ControlShift+8 (not F8) will convert paragraph marks to a pair of
new line marks. I didn't know this until I tried your suggestion and found
that paragraph marks became a pair of new line marks. Live and learn.
Again, to turn off reading of special marks, unpress the show all button
If you're familiar with spreadsheet software like excel, I recommend the
.CSV format. This will give you the raw data, and you can then manipulate it
in anyway you like to fit your needs.
If you're not familiar with Spreadsheet software like excel, my question is
why not?
The best purchase
Hey Mitch,
There's a good tutorial (webinar) for excel for $30, and a free webinar on
the MS Office suite interface, along with one for ribbons on
FreedomScientific's training website. In fact, that site is chalk full of
good training material - much of it free.

Donnie, typing Jaws14 in the search box that comes up when you press the
windows key won't do it. You need to type Jaws14 in the run dialog box,
which is brought up by pressing WindowsKey+R.

For some reason, Jaws14 is not coming up talking at the logon screen even
though I have it set to do so in the Jaws basic options. Jaws12 and jaws13 - no
problem, but jaws14 is mute at logon screen.
Anyone else having this problem?

I'm running Windows7 with jaws 12, 13, 14 on an iMac in bootcamp. It's
working just fine. The only problem I encounter is remembering the different
keyboard arrangement between the Mac and Windows. The Apple keyboard has the
key arrangement (from left to right) , control, option, command ,
After pressing insert+spacebar, press the question mark and you'll get a
list of all the commands available in the layered keyboard feature. One of
them is ResearchIt, and to get there you have to first press the R key.

I noticed some problems with forms on certain sites with JAWS14 too. But, I
switched to JAWS13 in those cases and problem solved. I don't know if it was
just glichey behavior, or a bug - I couldn't believe JAWS14 would have a bug
that obvious, so I chalked it up to temporary system wierdness.
I never like using shortcut keys - they can conflict with so many other
things. To run any version of jaws, I just hit WindowsKey+R to bring up the
run dialog, and type in JAWSxx, where xx is the version number. For example,
JAWS13, or JAWS14
