Did you try clearing your cookies?

I can copy and paste the steps from that page, if you want, but it's going
to be difficult to find the buttons if you're not able to understand them. I
mean, it is lucky it's Spanish then or not Chinese, or, indeed, Indonesian,
so you could probably do it. However, I think clearing your cookies should
(probably?) set your account language to match your system language. Well,
anyway, here is what it says (applies to desktop web):

If you are logged into your account

- Click on the circular Profile icon at the top right of any page, and
select Settings
- On the next page, under the General tab, click edit next to your current
language
- From the dropdown menu on the next page, select the language of your
choice, and click the red Save button

If you are not logged into your account

You will see a dropdown menu on the top right of any page listing the
different available languages. Changing the language in this dropdown *will
not*
change the language of your actual Meetup account.

You will have to log in and follow the steps above in order to change your
account's language settings on the desktop website.

Eloquence, Vocalizer, or something else, yes. I guess Eloquence is still the
default synth for jAWS. But the text you pasted from the Michael Danza
message above was in Indonesian. For some reason, Linkedin is set to display
your content in that language. You, or someone on your computer, must have
selected that language by mistake in your linkedin settings. I only used
Linkedin a bit. But if it's like Facebook, you can change the displaying of

Perhaps that might be a part of the problem. Try switching to a different

But if it's like Facebook, you can change the displaying of
Linkedin content to the language of your preference. I'm assuming you want
to change it back to english. Maybe this page will help you:

That one should display in english.

Perhaps that might be a part of the problem. Try switching to a different
one and see what happens. The synth itself may also have some kind of
language setting. I'm guessing that you are not using Vocalizer, as in order
for it to adopt Spanish pronunciation rules and voice, you would have to
install a Spanish voice. Where exactly is the problem happening on those
sites? Can you for example paste some of the strange content in a message,
so we can see it?

Read the instructions, and follow the steps. I guess clearing your browser
cookies might actually help, in both cases. I'm sure your computer's system
language is not set to Indonesian or Spanish.

Hi

I have a folder in my documents where I save friend and family's home
addresses.

For some of these addresses, Jaws will talk to me in Spanish, but just the
numbers.

Not all of them just a few of them.

How can I correct this to where I want everything in English?

Like I said it doesn't happen to all of them just a handful.

There is speaking grace. Colossians 4:6 says, "Let your speech be always
with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer
every man."

Look in your settings center with insert-6 when you have your browser
opened.

Just type in Language and arrow down, it'll probably be the first result.

it came up with english for the default language with firefox 45.
it has the option right there on the page to change language. but if you
do
this and leave the page it will use the cookey to set the language you
setup
a long time ago.
so you have to find that combo box and change the language back.

When I use meetup.com, I can't read the page because jaws keeps speaking

Does anyone have an answer for this?

2017-06-18 Thread net bat66
if it only changes language with jaws but not narrator then you could turn
language switching off.

its in the settings center in text editing, general menu.
that might be the problem.
there is probibly a profile setting in your meetup account that needs to be
changed back to english.

know anyone that knows spanish? grin

hello,
even i wanted the additional language pack so when i contacted the
support team, one of their representative gave me one link to download
but after installing the same, i was facing the same problem as
described. pressing f7 i was getting the message that spelling check
is complete ok button despite typing the wrong words in my additional
language i.e. Hindi. so once again i established the connection with
the support team and this time, one of their technical expert remotely
handled my pc and finally installed the required files. though even
she took an hours time to work on my PC but its now working fine.

Hi Kerry. The next thing you need to do is repair Jaws. This will fix
all

of the problems in JFW. I say you need to do that because you've done
everything that needs to be done. Hope this helps.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Language Question

Hi guys,

I have a friend who somehow seems to have messed up his JFW and I can't
figure this one out.
For some reason, his JFW switches to Castilian Spanish whenever he enters
Microsoft word.
I've tried changing the synthesiser language with the insert control+l ke
stroke. I've tried turning off language detection.

I know it's probably something very straightforward, but I just can't seem
to work it out.

Any thoughts?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Language Question

2009-04-18 Thread Victor
Hi Karryann,

You might want to have a look at what language his Microsoft Word is set to.

It may be set to Spanish and he doesn't know it.

Go into the tools menu, then, I believe it's in the options, but I'm not
entirely sure of that, In any case, make sure that you are dealing with a
particular language with Word.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Language Question

2009-04-18 Thread Brian Lee

Hello Kerry,

If you navigate into the global voices dialog accessed from the global
voices choice in the options menu there is a radio button for modifying
default and for application. If Word is open then navigate directly from
the Word window to the JAWS window. Select the modify application radio
button. There is a restore to factory button in the dialog box that you
can get to by using tab key. Executing the restore to factory button
should bring application settings back to what they were when JAWS was first
installed. You might also use it with the modify default radio button
active. I don't know if this will resolve the problem but you might want to
give it a try.

You might also want to check the language being used in word. The language
settings are in the tools menu in word 2003. I am not at a computer with
Word 2003 on it, but there is a dialog box that will result from a menu
choice dealing with language settings in that menu. You can check to make
sure that English is the default. In word 2007 there is a set language
button on the lower part of the ribbon in the review tab. If you execute
that button there is a button in the resultant dialog for choosing default
language.

Take care.
