to do it the old way to Alt 1 to the To field, copy it, start a new e-mail

But if you get an individual one, or you can even try with mine to Escape,
then hit Control C, then Control 3, then Control V. Then you'll have the

The good thing about the older harder way, I think, is a little more control

Turning Off Screen Echo when Deleting with DBT11.1

Hi, Everyone.
I'm using JFW13 and Duxbury 11.1. Where do I need to go to turn off

toggled the option.

Ideas?

steps below along with the annotations I made to myself. I believe the basic
instructions come from David Bailes. If this doesn't work for you, please
post again because there are other methods.

how to reveal system tray icons in Win7.

Open start menu properties with Win key, escape, alt-enter.

In the first dialog, tab to and press the Notification Area Customize
button. I found that the list of options appears when I shit-tabbed once.

The first item there is Always turn on all icons. I pressed the spacebar
on it, then tabbed to Okay.

Dave, I've heard much the same thing. But, ever nervous about corrupting
files, I do the following:

Close the window showing the drive of the SD card, etc., that I want to
remove. (This is consistent with your closing all applications using that
card, disc, etc.)

Go to system tray with JAWS key+F11.

Press s until system tray is verbalized. On my system (Win7, 64-bit),
that's just one press.

Press enter, then arrow down until the name of the item to be removed is
spoken. Press enter again.

Then JAWS verbalizes something like Safe to remove and I feel comfortable
ejecting the item.

I've only used it once, and found it irritating and useless. When I copy or

If you're using an external disc or hard drive, you might want to make sure
that there are no programs running that are accessing the drive before
disconnecting -- that might be the one and only time I'd consider using the
feature. Use JAWS+F11 to get to the system tray, arrow to safe to remove

Hello, everyone.

I am sure this may seem pretty elementary to some, but I actually have
gotten varying opinions on the need to use the safely remove hardware
option for USB devices such as USB thumb drives, and USB external hard
drives.

So, I have two questions:

1. Is it still necessary to invoke the safely remove hardware option
when using any of these USB devices? I have heard that in later operating
systems like Windows 7, this is not as necessary as it used to be.

And

2. How does one easily get to the safely remove hardware option, if
it would be a good idea for me to use it?

I am using Windows 7 and Jaws 16 here.

Thank you!

Might your pc be going into hybernation or sleep mode? When I put mine
into hybernation, laptop shuts down, but I can get it back by pressing
power button then press enter for my log-in.

I posted this the other day but saw no response so I'm posing the
question again in case someone might have missed it.

I'm wanting to know if there is any JunkWare removal tool that is
accessible to remove junk ware from a brand new laptop computer?

This is a Win 10 computer and not all the applications or links are
able to be removed from the Programs and Features in the Control Pannel.

Any suggestions especially for something that is free. Thanks.

I posted this the other day but saw no response so I'm posing the question
again in case someone might have missed it.

I'm wanting to know if there is any JunkWare removal tool that is accessible to
remove junk ware from a brand new laptop computer?

This is a Win 10 computer and not all the applications or links are able to be
removed from the Programs and Features in the Control Pannel.

Any suggestions especially for something that is free. Thanks.

Re: How to Get an Applications Key on a Lenovo Laptop?

2015-08-21 Thread Negoslav Sabev via Jfw
Hi,

Here is a very easy way to remap the print screen key on Lenovo with JFW.

1. Press insert+8 on the number row from anywhere. JFW keyboard
manager will open.
2. Press ctrl+alt+d to load the default .jkm file. You should hear
that the default file is loaded.
3. Be sure that you are on the default section by pressing insert+ up arrow.
4. tab once to enter the list of script key assignments.
5. Find SendApplicationKey by pressing the first few letters.
6. Press alt+h to open the dialog for changing the key assignment.
7. press the print screen key to assign it.
8. Press tab to go to ok and enter to confirm it.
9. Press ctrl+s to save and alt+f4 to close.

If you're in a message and hit esc, doesn't that put you back into
the mailbox list

At 08:23 PM 8/21/2015, you wrote:

OK, Keith. If I hit escape, I'm outside your message. So, right
there, I hit Control C; then Control 3 (to get to Contacts); then Control V

to do it the old way to Alt 1 to the To field, copy it, start a new e-mail
just to have a place to get out the and and list stuff, just get yours.
But if you get an individual one, or you can even try with mine to Escape,
then hit Control C, then Control 3, then Control V. Then you'll have the
e-mail address. I did it with yours, and then deleted it; somehow or other I
deleted it twice, but it's out. Anyway, that is one way that it can be done
in Outlook 2013.

The good thing about the older harder way, I think, is a little more control
of the data.

Your address is in my contacts, which I will delete, but my instructor told

I do SHIFT + TAB back to the From field. Once I get there, I hit the

It

RE: keystroke in outlook 2010 to add sender to contacts?

2015-08-21 Thread Carolyn Arnold via Jfw
OK, Keith. If I hit escape, I'm outside your message. So, right
there, I hit Control C; then Control 3 (to get to Contacts); then Control V
to paste in the new address. I think that in a list like this, it is better
to do it the old way to Alt 1 to the To field, copy it, start a new e-mail
just to have a place to get out the and and list stuff, just get yours.

Best from,

Carolyn

RE: How to Get an Applications Key on a Lenovo Laptop?

2015-08-21 Thread Ed Marquette via Jfw
This depends on which Lenovo model you are using. You can
sometimes swap the insert key and the applications key. Since
insert is the typical insert key, that may not be entirely
desirable; however, with the laptop keyboard, the capslock key
becomes the JAWS key. Depending upon personal preference, this
may be a good way to get both a JAWS key, which you absolutely
need, and an applications key, which is pretty handy.
The insert key, when it is not the JAWS key, is pretty useless.
Though, I would love to replace the print screen key with
something useful. I don't think I've ever found a use for the
print screen key.

Right click though is WHEREVER THE mouse happens to be. The
application menu is triggered where the keyboard is focused.

You could of course route the jaws to PC cursor before doing the
right click but that is even more cumbersome than shift+f10.

Re: Safely Remove Hardware question

2015-08-21 Thread Stan Holdeman via Jfw
Tom: Here is how I get to the safely remove feature in the system tray in my
windows 7 64 bit machine running jaws 16.

From desktop, windows key B lands me on notification chevron button in the
system tray. Hit enter, arrow up to a button identified as safely remove and
hit enter. I then get two options, one of which is safely remove.By the way,
if you do not have a device connected at the time, there will not be a
safely remove option available.

Adrian:

I'm not finding the safe to remove option in my system tray when I access it
with the jaws key and F11.

I'm using Jaws 16 with Windows 7 here.

I suppose I could just use the eject option in windows explorer via the
application key and down arrows. But I'm now hearing that there is a
difference between safely removing and ejecting a device.

I'd like to find a single safe to remove option for removing a thumb drive
or an external hard drive if that is available.

I got the impression that Tom's system tray isn't showing the safely
remove option. If that's the case, Tom, you might post again with that
specific question. Several sets of instructions have been posted in the past
on how to get JAWS to reveal it.

Tom,

I've only used it once, and found it irritating and useless. When I copy or
paste to a USB Thumb drive, I just wait until I'm able to navigate through
the list of files on that drive, and then I know I can pull it out.

If you're using an external disc or hard drive, you might want to make sure
that there are no programs running that are accessing the drive before
disconnecting -- that might be the one and only time I'd consider using the
feature. Use JAWS+F11 to get to the system tray, arrow to safe to remove
item and press enter.

Subject: Safely Remove Hardware question

Thank you!
