[kicad-users] 3D models

2007-01-16 Thread Mark Webster
Is there any way to export the 3D model of the board? I want to be able to use it to design the enclosure and check for interference. I can’t seem to find the option anywhere. Can someone help? TIA - MarkW -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Version:

Hi Glenn, I'm not sure if this is doable with kiCAD, as you would have to generate two different netlists to import into the two boards. However: I would strongly suggest that you do this as two projects anyway. You don't want to have to up issue both boards because you needed to make a change

2007-04-25 Thread Mark Webster
I am brand-new to Kicad - just trying to learn to use it. Am I missing something, or is there a way that when you move a part or block in pcb or schematic, that the connections stay attached and just stretch from their origins, or is the only choice to re-do all your connections routed track

I'll begin a new design (3rd with Kicad) in some days, and I should ask before drawing schematic: What could be the most efficient way to make a single side PCB with 0R SMD bridges on tracks? I read the Single layer PCB ... bridges on top layer thread, and it seems, the SMD solution is not

RE: [kicad-users] smd (qfp) package confusion

2008-08-24 Thread Mark Webster
Igor, PCBNEW and most PCB packages always view the board from the component side. If you place a component on the copper side then all the pins will appear reversed because you are viewing it through the board. The pin numbers and net connections will still be correct. Yes, because it is

Hi Marcus, You did nothing wrong, the DRC in PCBNEW doesn't detect zone connections. I usually run thin tracks between the ground pins and DRC before filling the zones just to make sure. Regards, MarkW From: kicad-users@yahoogroups.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of avr4you

Hello all, I have one problem with the PCBNew or Gerber file viewer. The scale of my printed PCB layer (on A4 with Scale 1) does not match with the PCB dimension drawed in PCBNew. Hi, Printer scaling is never exact. If you need to do it this way (rather than plot to a file to sent to a
