Any idea what the cost would be for the inspection?
I would charge anywhere between $100 and $500 for the inspection. It
depends on the individual inspector, and the aircraft. One thing for sure
is that you want to find an individual, rather than a repair facility.

About the glued up sides. My KR was started before the Eighties and the
glue is still in tact. Check all the glue joints for completeness and only
replace the one's that don't look good. If they all look good, use the
sides.

reason. Shop around and you may catch an engine forsale from one of the

It is almost always necessary to prime the pump to get it to build pressure.
One method that I have used with great success is to pack the pump with
Vaseline and don't rotate the engine prior to starting. The cover is an
exact fit.

the lift just from the stub wings. With one wing on and not the other, it

For a shortfield takeoff you would keep the tail on the
ground until the plane lifts off

On a hard surface you are correct, but on sod, especially wet or some what
long, the tail wheel becomes that much more drag, and needs to be lifted off
to help acceleration.

install a tee and then install a direct read pressure gauge and see it
agrees with the electric sender..

noisy intake valves which need to be re-set to a
smaller tappet clearance. I have not tried to find out what full speed is. I
have been using boost on takeoff and feel the engine is running well.

I just had a look at the GPAS web site and they list the firing order as 1234.
My VW book shows it as 1432. Does anyone know how he gets these numbers, Does
he number his cylinders differently?

My aircraft gets light on the stick at 2500. What is the pitch of your
prop? Even though mine gets light on the stick at 2500 and I can lift the
tail at 2800, on the roll, it all changes and it wants some speed, but
nothing like 35 MPH.

My KR has an original RR fixed gear (Some Say Grove) and my ground clearance
with a 54" prop was 8". As long as the sod is mowed, there is plenty of
clearance.

Well, I did not make much progress yesterday, as the Local police requested
that everyone either close their hanger doors, or leave the airport, in
anticipation for the arrival of the VP for some local politics. It was too hot
to close the door, so I went home early. I guess The VP
anifold so that the flow divides evenly to both the
left and right sides. Any way my current plan is to get airborne by 1
September. If I don't make that date, a long cross country might not be
wise.

climb rate. I can only guess at how much power the engine would make at 5
PSI boost. To get my 2366 cc engine to 100Hp would be super. In reality
what ever increase I get will be good.

mount is such that all I have to do is drop in the four pins and the cotter
keys and it's a done deal. I will spend the next two days installing the
accessories, wires, probes, fuel and various other things to make it
operate. My hope is that by Saturday I will be able to start the engine.
