Before we advertise elsewhere, I would like to let the Arachneans know that
we have a couple of vacancies in each of two courses at the end of this year.
These full board, residential courses are held in a 3 star, Best Western

The first is the weekend of 6th, 7th and
I have spent a happy time on this snowy day exploring the new web site:
http://www.handweaving.net/DAHome.aspx
I checked on the CD area and found that it only mentioned weavers and
weaving. Be patient! Kris will be posting the information for the
lace CDs as soon as he can.

Thanks for the Heads-Up Tess.
The KEYWORD SEARCH CAPABILITIES on the new site is wonderful. Give it a
try.
I like the new site. Course I like to weave and spin, also.

Does anyone know of anyone in the US who teaches these laces? I am especially
interested in learning the Turkish laces/Oya. I am hoping to find someone on
the east coast who teaches it but will go just about anywhere.

Yes, it's time to start thinking about this year's commeratives. I was
wondering if anyone minded if I put my bid in to do them this year. It's
been six years since I've done them, and I had this idea. I heard chatter
on the list about having bobbins with something like Member since
I'm all for JoAnne's doing the bobbins. Haven't a clue when I joined
Arachne, but it's a great idea to have the date printed on them.

I, for one, would enjoy having another of JoAnne's bobbins. I say she
should at least be allowed to put in a bid for vote by Arachne, or
even have her do them again this year.

Gretchen Allgeier taught knotted needlelace and oya construction at the
Hasbrouck Heights IOLI convention. She was even able to teach it left-

She used to own the shop Beggar's Lace in Colorado, so maybe the

Must be that time of year... We're in the season for Southern jokes
