I always feel that if you reverse your thinking process when developing and
choosing materials for a lace item, you start with how it must be cared for in
the future. That means, think what a restorer or conservator will have to do.

one or two bits. Someone, (sorry I forget who) mentioned John
Brooker. Sadly he no longer makes them. His were wonderful but he had
health problems relating to the dust that the working caused I think.

Dear Barbara -- Usually you would make the fan to fit the sticks,
not the other way round. So now, when you find fansticks that you
like, you might have to alter your pricking a bit so that it will
fit. As to where to find sticks: I have had some gorgeous ones from
John Brooker in England.
