If the dress was completed, I think the Royal School of Needlework ladies
who applied the lace would have had more than a tiny inkling about who the
dress was for.
Rochelle said The press release might have just said the lace
was appliqued
and left it at that. Now there might be an opportunity to build
on the
interest and get more people doing lace, which after all is what we

need.

The latest issue of Notions, the newsletter of the American Sewing Guild, has

Do you think they really had all 15 days? After all, the dress still had to be

completed?

What a wonderful show, great closeups. Thank you so much. I've got a
question, however. I read that Victoria wanted to encourage the Honiton
lace industry, which had
Jane Rowton-Lee being interviewed on BBC as she was involved in the floristry
at the Abbey.
And a very talented needlelace maker and teacher too, not to mention a lovely
lady I have had the privilege to learn from.

Hi all,
I get the digest version of lace so I don't know if anyone has mentioned
that the BBC has a short (5 min) audio slideshow about an exhibition of 6
royal dresses at Kensington Palace? It includes close up shots of some of
the lace on Q Victoria, Q Alexandra and Q Mary's dresses.

Dear Liz,
I had heard, on the radio, that she wore a 100 year old
Irish lace veil, and from the picture in the paper, it looks like
Carrickmacross. - and a beautiful piece of carrickmacross, too! I hope to
see it in full, on the TV news, tonight!
I did stay up and watch the wedding and saw all

Hi Joan and Elizabeth,
I hope that you managed to see a bit of the Danish Royal wedding. It was the
stuff that fairytales are made of. It was so romantic - the crown prince
and half the kingdom of Denmark were literally moved to tears as his
beautiful bride made an entrance into the church. She
I went to the Sydney Morning Herald's web-site to see photos get a
description of what Mary's dress was made of:

It was really unusual to see gum leaves in her wedding bouquet.
The article below described her dress veil.

Hi Everyone,
This is for those of you who would like to see the Danish Royal Wedding
live. One of our TV stations is transmitting live on the internet and there
is also English translation.
I'm off to my favourite position on the sofa to enjoy it all. The actual
ceremony is at 4pm Danish time.
I did not stay up to see the Royal Wedding - (It was the wee small hours
here in Oz,) but we have just bought the newspaper, and it shows the bride
on the front page. I had heard, on the radio, that she wore a 100 year old
Irish lace veil, and from the picture in the paper, it looks like
