Bob,
The best solution is to forward the sip ports to the asterisk box
Sip is using port 5060 (and sometimes 5061) for signaling and ports
1-2 for RTP data (voicel)
If the 1-2 range overlaps with any other ports, you can change it in
asterisk by modyfing the rtp.conf (note there
where
awmn1 is your interaced name

I think Stelios meant interface but his keyboard bounced :-)

Hi !
I'm setting up Bering 1.2 with ISDN wan connection.
Bering 1.2 booting from hda1
isdn.lrp from http://leaf-project.org/devel/ericw/bering
followed instruction from
http://leaf.sourceforge.net/doc/guide/buisdn.html
and it is not working.
ip route show doesnt list any default route.
Robert,
Here is what i did to get netmeeting going through Bering 1.2
In the modules i have declared the following (remove the ftp and irc modules
if you don't need them)
# Masquerading 'helper' modules
# Other modules available in bering/modules/net/ipv4/netfilter
ip_conntrack_ftp
Although i am using Bering 1.2 and not uclibc i think that this is more a
problem of bad rf connections than software.
I have been able to get up to 6 Mbits/sec throughput at 5Km away using
Bering 1.2 and hostap 0.0.4 (with a 24db grid antenna)
Unfortunatelly pinging a wlan interface does not
Greetings,
For those interested in multi-link isdn (aka channel bundling) i have build
a package for Bering.
It also supports the ibod daemon so that the second line starts and stops
automagically depending on the load.
(For this module to work 2 patches are need for the kernel)
I have been using
I assume that is a crypto hardware card I see in the image. Could you
please explain the driver you chose
Erich,
Actually its a Realtek ethernet card... Crypto is the name of the Greek
company that imports them and sell them under their name
They used to make crypto modems and devices in

I am debugging a wireless AP router based on Bering 1.2 and since there is
a lot of logging going on, the /var/log runs our of space very fast.

Joe,
Try to check different CF cards.
It looks like that not all CF cards are created equal. ;-)
A lot of the CF cards i have tried from smaller OEM manufacturers (i.e not
Sandisk) do not support the full CF standard and as a result the do not
operate well (or at all) in IDE mode.
Also if you
Robert,
Here is my syslinux.cfg. It works fine with a CF i have installed.

Greetings !
I am investigating the possibility of using a number of Bering 1.2 routers
to create a wi-fi back-bone, and i was wondering if anyone has any
experience on this.
Since several of the boxes will be connected with more than one interfaces
(i.e cards) routing becomes an issue.
The
David,
Check that the voltage of the card is set correctly.
I had a similar problem with an Ingenius card when used in HostAP mode.

Hello !
The question here is that I can´t ping the external IP
address of the cisco router or do a traceroute and
when I try to open my web broser in any of my local
PCs it doesn´t work. It says that it can open the
website, and the same for the mailing tool Outlook
From the above i
Greetings,
I have setup a dial out Bering firewall in a small office. Recently I
noticed that it often fails to hang up the modem even when all machines
on the internal network have been turned off for long past the timeout
value. Possibly this is because of the increased number of worms
can some one tell me how do I dial to my Provider manually or via crontab?
isdnctrl dial ippp0will dial the provider
isdnctrl hangup ippp0 will hangup

First you need to specify the type of the hisax device you have

Greetings !
It looks like the same behaviour (link never goes down due to sporadic
incoming traffic that resets the haptimeout value) happens to the ISDN
interface that uses ipppd and not pppd.
There is a patch available from http://trash.net/~kaber/ippp-filter/ that
adds active_filter support
Greetings to all !
I a new user to LEAF and i have been trying to set up an ISDN
router/firewall using Bering 1.2
I have found a few problems regarding the set up of the isdn interface, most
of them i managed to figure them out.
My biggest problem now is that the ISDN does not hangup automagicaly
