How do you handle the use of multiple sources to complete a single
record (i.e. name, birthdate, etc.)? I know you can have multiple
sources attached to a single record, but how do you record from which
source each piece came from?
For example let's say Source A provided the birth date for John
I use the AKA field, and source the added information regarding the middle
name source or nick name source there. For place of birth I enter multiple
source records under birth and add detail text to state the new piece of
info it provides.

That's exactly why I always transcribe the text from the source into the Detail

date I recorded the source in Legacy. That lets me assess the age of the
data when I look at that source later. If the source template includes a

I use the Recorded Date as the date *I* entered the information in my database.
The Artifact template has a field for Date Created where you could enter 1925
and updated in 1935. If you don't want to do that for some reason, you could
include that information under the Text/Comments
Hey all ... is there any way to build a citation when a family group
record, GEDCOM file, etc. is provided by someone OTHER than the
compiler?
For example, my great uncle gave me a bunch of Family Group Sheets a
dozen years ago. He was NOT the compiler. I have no idea who was,
and my uncle is
I would call it 'Family Group Sheets collected by Joe Smith from various family
members' over his lifetime. The important part is 'collected'.
