A few years back there was discussion of the pros and cons of storing digital files as jpg, PDF and other formats. One of the drawbacks of jpg is losing data with repeated edits and saves. PDF files cannot currently be viewed within Legacy. Tif has been recommended as the best way to store

Emily, Any discussion on this should be related to how the graphic files and PDF files are handled in Legacy. If you want to include the pictures in reports, then they need to be in a graphic format. PDF files can't be included in reports and web pages and there's no change to that in v8.

Jay, Syble, et al, We are talking about horses for courses here. Yes, one can have a picture in the PDF file form but that is not the primary purpose of a PDF, which is primarily designed for reports and similar. A browser will open a PDF not in the browser page but in a separate PDF viewer

Cheryl, When you are in the Tree Finder Window you will find a Tag: # window in the lower right next to the Tag All the individuals in the List button. When you click any of those buttons it will use the Tag number shown in that window. If you want each tree to be a different number then choose it

It appears that you have a blank Individual Information screen open in Legacy. If that is hidden behind the current screen you can try tapping alt to bring it to the front. If you have more that one monitor make sure both are turned on, the info screen may be on that a monitor which is turned

Jean, As the Wyllo family and children are not descendants of Guy I would not expect them to appear in a Descendants Report for him. This is possibly a matter of language but I cannot think what you mean by “all that information has been entered under the Additional Spouse information.”.

On the face this sounds really good. But concerning the auto-sorting: I sometimes like to sort my events by the event type first, then by date. For example, I'll put all of the EDUCATION ones together, and all of the RESIDENCE ones together, etc. This can help me to find gaps in information.
