If the transcription error is in medieval or earlier century documents, I would enter it as an alternate name. It may well have been copied and appear in other sources. Having it as am alternate name would enable to to check your index. When I find transcription errors on ancestry.com, I do

Leon & Brian, I tried your “global” source approach and it did transmit the desired website link to my Ancestry pages via a gedcom. However, as I suspected, it placed the information at the bottom of the Sources List on the person page. While that may be the best I can do for now, it

Thanks for your reply, Brian. A "global" source won't work for me because it won't be easy to position it uniformly on the person page in Ancestry. I'm not trying to suppress sources that are uploaded to Ancestry, in fact I upload them all. But they often to not display correctly or fully.

I do not know a way to add an event to everyone but if you would be satisfied with a source attached to everyone with your disclaimer then you can add a source when exporting to the GEDCOM for use by TNG. When exporting click on the Autosource button to tell legacy to add the source to
