Hi Karina--
I'm not with Tabuleiro, but I've used the Direct Media Xtra.
I think there's a good reason for the error on the Mac. Direct Media
uses DirectX. Mac doesn't like

Hi all--
This is a fix--or maybe a bug report--not a question ^_^
For months I've had seemingly random corruption of italicized text on
Windows. I'd fix it, and a couple weeks later it would pop up somewhere
else.
Most of our text uses an embedded Comic Sans MS font, and we change the
text on t
If you had quicktimes in multiple channels, but all save one are

Most likely you'll have to get it directly from the Macro guys - it's
not official AFAIK.

I only have ever use it for one thing:
[Lingo]
DisplayFullLingoErrorText=1
;This property is used by shockwave and projectors.
; 1: Lingo errors generate a more descriptive text in the error alert.
; 0: Lingo errors generate a "script error. continue ?" yes/no alert.
It's really handy to set
I use it to make a test projector use some initial (ini ;) ) values
without recompiling the projector or without editing a *.dir file. I use it
also to store some values when the projector closes (like last logged in
user, etc)

I've just started using Lingo.ini. In it you can do some minor Lingo
like setting globals. For example, I have a Lingo.ini file that
looks something like this:
on startup
global gProductAbbreviation
gProductAbbreviation = "RA"
end startup
Then I have a "stub" projector that looks like
Greets, I've been programming with Director (PC) for many years now...but
have never used an ini file with any of my projects. What am I missing by
not using that feature?
Or, more simply put, what are you using the .ini file for?
TIA

Sure, if they don't mind installing quicktime.
I've also used mpg for video, playing back through QT on mac and video for
windows on pc.

Hi,
Does anyone know of any resources for the .w3d format . I would like to get
as much info as possible. Iam trying to write an exporter for a custom
inhouse tool. I can't find the file specifications anywhere.

There's been a tech note on that for at least 20 years. I believe
it's been updated to a behavior. Look in the tech notes, search under
xray or magnifier. You'll find it.

I may have spoken too soon... I think it would be easier to do in Flash, but I haven't
tried it yet.

If you can use Flash, it would be easy to do in there.

We used QuickTime.
For MacOS we supplied an standalone installer that would run if no quickTime
was installed. Most Macs have at leased QT3 installed
For Windows we used DirectMedia from tabuleiro.com. This xtra runs video
formats, QuickTime, avi and MPEG from CD-ROM without installing software
If you make sure your highlite member is next after your "normal" castmember
then this is a generic script for all kinds of changing castmember things.
Have fun!!!
Just copy this script into a behaviour and attach that behaviour to your
sprite. Run Director and VOILA!!!

Hi.
can anybody recommend a good xtra which makes it easyer to get some kind of
graphic view of a 3d world? I am having a hard time overseeing the different
shaders, cameras, objects etc in a large 3d world ( I need something similar
to 3dapi).

Hello All,
I'm building a little app using directors 3D bonesanimation.
I have a 3Dmodel that i can control the bones of. I have code that can
record the position of the model (saving bone nr and transform to a list). I
can then use this information to animate the model to any saved position

I had an interesting problem arise in a project involving rich text
formatting. The problem appeared when doing a lot of formatting on
the one
cast member using lingo (it's a cascading menu). It seems that the
member
'remembers' the previous formatting in some way and eventually gets

Hello all-
Earlier (D7), I encountered what seemed to me to be a strange limitation
in the use of Flash members inside Director movies.
Using the loadMovie() -command is a very popular way of doing things in
the Flash world. In effect, one SWF file (usually on _level0) opens
other SWF files atop
