Hi Matthias,
first of all, samba is full compatible with WinNT, that means that you can
easy integrate a linux fileserver into a winnt domain, without any changes.
You can make a machine account at the domain controller, so that the
password handling is done by the domain controller.
You do not

Hi,
i read the z800 redbook and followed the installation routine for QDIO
mode. I launched the echo and insmod commands and started the network.
Everything worked fine... well, it seems that everything worked fine. The
modules were loaded and the network seems to be up.

then you'll have trouble.
Post the results of a route or netstat -r command and we'll see what

Hi again,
in our company our passwords are synchronized with a tool called pass-go.
My idea is to also synchronize the linux passwords with our RACF or
lan-passwords.
Pass-Go is not available for L/390.. bad luck. Out domain controller is
OS/2, so it is unfortunately not possible to synchronize
:-)))
That worked fine... thanks.

Do you have something like a cookbook for configure PAM to authenticate
users login and samba access to a RACF database?
I do not know how to set up.
Well, via Perl-LDAP I get a connection to RACF... so far so good, but do I
have to set up ldap.conf, slapd.conf, ?
TIA,
