Well, I've solved the problem.
I was running drakxservices from the main configuration screen in an
unprivledged mode (but suid root), after doing su root and running
drakxservices directly, it worked.

If you *are* running X as root (big mistake here), you might try to do a
'rm -rf /root/.licq' and run licq again, effectively restaring licq (you'll
