Linux won't shut down properly. It should be because of the USB because
it only started not rebooting or shutting down when the mouse started
working. It goes through it's normal shutdown routine, then undoes USB
stuff (I don't know if and where a log of this stuff is) and then says

Hi all, I am using Mandrake Linxu 8.1 w\ kernel 2.48-26. Is there
support for the Viewquest CS-330 webcam a.k.a. Intel PC camer pack?
Harddrake sees it, but of course that doesn't mean there is a driver for
it. If yes, what specific driver needs to be loaded to use it?
Thanks,
Adam

Last message, I promise, until someone asks me for more information. The
following is a snippet from /var/log/messages with only the KVM connected via

Additional information that I forgot to mention. Sorry.
I have an IOGear MicroHub (4-port, not powered) attached to my second USB port
on the back of my computer to assist in testing with this problem. It allows
me to unplug mouse and keyboard from the KVM and connect them to my Linux
computer wi

so after formatting the cf in windows, reading and writing works. The
problem is now is, I want to write a kernel image to the cf; I assume
the proper way
to do this is "dd if=some_bzImage of=/dev/sda1". When I do this, my
system locks permanently; the same happens with "cat foo > /dev/sda1".

I have a simple tech ucf-500 cf reader; I can't write to it.
I'm running kernel 2.4.17; I set everything up correctly (I assume) and
I can mount it and read from it. There are some oddities though:
instead of appearing in /proc/scsi/scsi as a "simple tech/datafab CF+SM
reader" it shows up as a "
