You would have to do that without a foat (sidewaystable is itself a float).
Anyway, the described mew GUI does that for you.

You can download the paper class from ctan.org:
http://ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/paper/.
Info about how to install it in LaTeX and then get LyX to recognize it
is in Ch 5 of the Customization manual. The koma-script article class
may also serve you well. It's very customizable. If

Thanks,
In fact I do see a class called 'paper' and a lot of other things that
look worth checking out, "apa" etc. unfortunately in my installation
(osx) they all say 'Unavailable:' in front of em. Can someone point me
to a howto about installing new document classes, or making available
those that ar

Paul,
I used to use mgp, but that did not produce pdf files. Have you looked at
the OpenOffice.org presentation component?

Could someone recommend to me a simpler (less sophisticated) way than
beamer to make pdf transparencies?
Thanks in advance,

In LyX 1.4, right-click on the float and check "rotate sidewards" in the float
dialog.

Dear list,
When I use the rotate 90 degree option of table. The table is rotated,
but not its caption. I currently use the landscape environment but
this makes the table non-float. Is there a solution to this problem?
Many thanks in advance.
Bo
I am brand new to lyx, and was surprised to find myself needing to
manually insert pagebreaks for my bibliography page, and for a table
float. It seems like it should've happened automatically (I tried both
the Report and Article document classes)
Also, is there a way to remove page numbers fr

Several people have reported problems with customized layout files from
LyX 1.3.x that would not work anymore in 1.4.0. It would be nice if those
could test the new layout file conversion script that will go into 1.4.1.
To do so, put the attached file stdsections.inc in .lyx/layouts and the
