I managed to fix the problem by just downloading a new copy of the
reference from Medline. I though that I had already tried it but
apparently I had just re-exported the entry from Zotero with the same
problem.

I had not realised that you are on Ubuntu. If you are willing to switch
keyboard layouts to Spanish as needed it is fairly easy to set up keyboards in
the command area (or whatever it is called correctly) where things like battery
status volume control etc is and just do a quick
