I got it to work by inserting a protected "standard" space between
exercises (see attachment). Dunno if that's the way it's supposed to work,
but it seems to do the trick.

In a perfect world, yes. From my understanding, the lyx integration of
beamer is quite complicated. Also, this makes a great deal of sense. The
itemized lists are under a frame object, so they are essentially treated as
a sub-object when the user hits tab, as they should be. It also clearly

This looks like a bad interaction between enumitem.sty and
babel/franchb. Since all these packages are in rather old versions, it
is difficult to diagnose the problem. I would try to load enumitem.sty
after babel.
