I made a shortcut to startxwin, which opened in my Home directory.
Then a lyxer.bat file to change to C:\lyxcyg\bin\ - lyx.bat
This starts up LyX137v2, which now uses Cygwins', xdvi, xpdf and gv.

On my Red Hat Linux 9.0 system, lyx 1.4.0 manages to compile, but not link
(see below). The missing /usr/lib/libltdl.la file doesn't exist on my
system. Any ideas on how to fix this are very welcome.

and it's slow as molasses. It's so slow that I literally type faster
than it can handle, I often have to stop and wait for it to catch up.

I just started using 1.3.7 on windows, and so far am quite thrilled with it.
I do have an issue with references though. When I add a new reference at the
bottom in the references section, and then cite it in my text, I do get the
