Dear lyx'ers, I've noticed lyx 1.6.5 automatically adds the package
esint to the preamble whenever the symbol \int is invoked. Is this
really necessary? AFAIK, \int is included in the standard fonts, but
esint is not included by default in most latex installations.

something wrong with the R code) isn't much help:

Careful reading babel.pdf revealed the solution:
