I have just installed the latest CJK-LyX
(CJK-LyX-qt-1.4.2-1.i386.rpm), using the TeX Live distribution. This
works really well with GB encoding (simplified Chinese characters),
both for screen preview and in the DVI/PDF output. However, with Big5
