I got lyx-1.1.6fix3, according to 'INSTALL', I install the xforms-0.88-4
and libxpm-4.7, then I configure , make and make install it. all things
seem OK.

thanks, i have resolved my problem, by just clicking on edit-reconfigure and
then the export formats appeares in the menu Exports.

If you were using lyx 1.1.6 before, you need to do edit-reconfigure.

It displays just fine IN lyx but if I try to view a preview page with dvi,

Are you using Mandrake 8.0? If so, try updating your CUPS printing system.
That fixes some problems with printing files containing .eps graphics.
