When I close lyx, if I look at my running processes, it appears that cmd.exe and
its underlying processes, e.g. xetex, are not closing and I need to kill the
tree manually. This must be a bug??
My situation is as follows. I have been using LyX and MyKteX happily on a window
machine for some time, but now have a mAc with oSx (snow leoparD 10.6) in which
I want to install tEX etcI would classify myself as an intermediate level
TEX user, neither beginner, nor expert. e.g. I use lYx mostl
I am using Lyx 2.0.7.1 on a Mac 10.6.8
I have a simple (less than 2 pages) document that has a few images. I
edited/cropped one image using an external editor (per right click menu). I
saved it over itself.
Now, no matter what I do, it refuses to update the picture. The uncropped
version appears
I can't seem to get instant preview working on a mac 10.6.8 with LyX 2.0.7.1
I have installed the "preview" package via the tex live utility, turned
graphics/instant preview on in the preferences pane, and reconfigured LyX.
Is there something else I should do?
thx

a blank document.
1. LyX: I open a new document. As is: No preamble, default user settings.
2 I open Adobe. I take a snap

PS on previous message. To be clear: The update in dvi correctly outputs
changes in text. It is merely changes in images that are not updated.

In addition to using clipboard, as described above, I tried by inserting a
jpeg via insert graphics. no go.
The following two programs are also needed:
* dvipng
* dv2dt
(both should be available via your TeX distribution)
HTH

dvipng found. search for dv2dt revealed it is part of dtl package.
installed.
reconfigured lyx.
ran.

Yes, I was just about to add that. Thanks for the redirection. I am aware
it is quite likely the problem is more "user error" and not an actual
problem in the packages or in LyX. I have done what I can to refer to the
manuals and previous posts, but hadn't found anything about this situation
